What color highlights is best for natural black hair?

I am really tired of my black shoulder length hair. I think it looks soo dull. I have jet black hair that I think is a level 1 - 2. What color highlights should I get. It needs to be natural (yes, i'm the type of person who would go for blue highlights because of school rules ) I don't want red highlights. My whole family has them and I hate it. I have medium darkish skin tone. What color highlights is best for natural black hair?
I would try carmel or a light to medium brown shades. If you go to the right place they can put the highlight swatches up to your hair and you can get an example of what it might look like. The best way to look natural is to get them to look one to two shades lighter than your current color. Whatever you do, DON'T get blond highlights. It will look tacky and unnatural. Try to get highlights that are dark brown. Make them a shade or two lighter so that the highlights still look natural. Also, get them done without foiling so that they look more natural and less streaky.
well idk, like but my sister she has this really straight long black hair, and she did 2 stripe of blonde highlights, and it looks really good, some ppl go for red, but dat look kinda a punk, i meant if u're a punk for for it!!!
I know someone who had black hair and they put some natural looking Dark brown, witch makes it not look stripey. Its really cool with naturallyy black hair! Or even a golden lighter brown would look cool!
i think that a dark shade of brown with just a tiny tinge of red would look great with your skin...


but don't go for the light brown shades that looks almost yellow..

you should try just a few shades lighter than your normal hair color. dont go for any bright colors thats really tacky and not stylish at all.
