ThanksHow do I bleach my natural black hair if i want to dye it purple?
well bleaching is damaging to the hair
but why would you want to do it twice
once should be good
then you dye it purple but wait awhile
your going to really damage your hair
if you do it all at once JEZZ :3How do I bleach my natural black hair if i want to dye it purple?
You only need to bleach it once, use a powder bleach and 40 volume developer mixed in equal proportions, but you can also get a bleach kit (I recommend Jerome Russell). Do not do this at a salon! None of the unnatural dyes made by professional brands last, I know, I've tried them! Punky Colour lasts the longest, I have had it for 4 months without it ever fading. Every other brand fades really quickly.
You do not need to have white hair to get true purple! You can dye Punky Colour over bright orange and it looks exactly the same as the color swatches that have been dyed over white hair, so one bleaching is fine. Leave the bleach 1/2 an inch from the scalp and ends, apply it there the last 10 minutes. Those places process much faster, so they will be lighter than the rest of your hair if you apply the bleach all over for the entire processing time.
You bleach it with hair bleach, NOT household bleach.
If your hair is very dark, you'll need to use 30 vol peroxide mixed with bleach powder. This can be bought from supermarkets (looks for ones you mix, not a box dye) or better, bought from hair supply stores, like sallys. Don't use 40 vol peroxide, its too strong for the scalp, unless you're onl bleach saying a streak.
With 30 vol peroxide and dark dark brown hair, you should get to the orange/bright yellow stage of bleaching. Its not ideal, but you should be able to get a dark purple colour over that, if you want a light purple/pastel purple you'll need to bleach it again, down to the pale yellow stage. And yes, you have to leave it a few days.
I highly recommend using a direct dye rather than a permanent purple box dye, but its your own choice.
If you use a direct dye it is good for your hair, dyes like special effects, manic panic, punky last longest.
It's always safer to get a professional bleaching. I work in a salon, and Ive seen some girls come in with messed up hair from home bleaching.
It would defiantly be better to do one bleach out then wait a couple of days, let your hair recoup and let some natural oils help it. Also if you do wait a couple days, you should try a deep conditioning treatment, just to help your hair stay strong. Depending on the condition of your hair, and the texture, it's not recommended by most professionals that you do a double bleach out at all. If your hair is virgin, one bleach out might get you light enough for purple. A double bleach out is only safe on very thick, resilient hair.
If you are dead set on a double bleach out, make sure you get the proper conditioners and treatments to help revive your hair post-bleach and make sure you go to a professional. It will cost more, but it's much safer.
You do it once, and do it right. You need to remove all colour from your hair for the purple to show up. Any yellow in the hair will counteract against the purple and look slightly grey.
There is no point in waiting... the hair isn't going to get any better! How ridiculous!! Just do it once, and get it as light as possible. With black hair, it may be really hard to get it light enough, but with the right bleach, all things are possible. You need qualified help to do it correctly.
it all depends on how well your color lifts with the bleach. to get your hair truly purple you would need a blank canvas to start with (ie white hair.) if your hair bleaches to say a yellowish blonde, think what the yellow would do combined with purple, not so great.
i would tell you to bleach it out (you can do it at home, try wellite bleach i like that one) and use a bleach additive like a blue powder to minimize the yellow/orange factor. see how it bleaches after one session. if it does not bleach white enough for the purple to take well, try choosing a purple with a more red/magenta base. this should work well.
you can always bleach again (give it two weeks) to get your hair more white so you can use a more blue/violet based purple.
You should probably wait a day or two between bleaching it again but a great suggestion is to get henna that DOESN'T dye your hair. it repairs damaged hair really well and would help to lessen the harming of your hair in this process.
Also the results would be the same if you did your hair at home.
Get it professionally done. Bleaching is so bad for your hair.. especially if you do it 2 times within a week. If you do do this, you would want to look for an anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner... a good one.. salon brand probably.
it wont cause less damage its equal damage, your still damaging it!
They say pro is best but its the same at home.
You dont need to bleach it more than once if u buy a good bleaching kit.
try one that has 30/40 volume and leave it for 15 minutes,
well, you could dye it twice in one day,
but of course, you might not like how it looks for the first day.
but it will be better for your hair
bleaching is very bad for your hair.
with bleach
